Vehicle Restoration in Huntington, New York
Restoration has been part of this auto body shop for as long as it has existed. Classic cars, vintage trucks, and modern rebuilds, from partial work to a complete frame-off.
Scope gets agreed before anything is cut
The first conversation is about what the vehicle is for. A car headed to shows and a truck that will be driven every weekend in summer justify very different budgets, and the wrong assumption costs real money.
We get the vehicle up, pull what needs pulling, and look inside the rockers, floors, arches, and rails. Long Island salt reaches places that look sound from three feet away. Better to know the true scope at the beginning than to discover it with half the budget spent.
Metal work
Where a section has gone past saving it comes out and new steel goes in, shaped to the original contour, with corrosion protection applied inside the joint before it is closed. Covering compromised metal buys a season and then fails from behind, which is the single most common thing we find on vehicles restored cheaply elsewhere.
Original panels that are still sound get worked rather than replaced. On older vehicles a good original is frequently better than what is currently available to buy.
Body, paint, and finish under one roof
Metal work, structural work, color matching, refinishing, and final detailing all happen here. Nothing gets subcontracted out and shipped back, which matters on a long project where consistency across the whole vehicle is the entire point.
These take time
Restoration is scheduled around the collision work that pays the weekly bills, so it moves steadily rather than quickly. We would rather set that expectation now than apologise for it later.
