Materials that behave differently

A modern European chassis is a mix of aluminum, high strength steel, and structural adhesive, sometimes in the same assembly. Each has its own joining method and its own limit on heat. Aluminum in particular does not tolerate being treated like steel. It work hardens, it has no memory to pull back toward, and steel contamination sets up corrosion that surfaces months later.
